Coen Brothers are known for their dark tales suitably tagged as neo-noir ... Fargo is one such black comedy!It is about a car sales executive who is in severe debt and in urgent need of cash.
One fine day , in a snowy Minnesota winters , he hires 2 goons to plot kidnapping of his own wife , to rig a huge sum of ransom from his wealthy father-in-law.
The story takes a turn of events when the kidnapping goes gory and police gets involved giving the sales executive a pretty hard time .
The case is in the hands of a pregnant woman police officer played by Frances McDormand (wife of Joel Coen , the director of the film) who has done a commendable job , with funny anecdotes and small nuances , making it fun crime drama!!!
The end is predictable which makes the movie an anti-climax... nevertheless good Oscar winning film!!
