Taxi Driver : by Martin Scorsese

Martin Scorsese , became a cult director in the 80's just becoz of sheer mastery be it in , Raging Bull , GoodFellas , or the recent The Departed

Taxi Driver is no exception , he brings forth the sublime actor in Robert -De- Niro in the title role , just as a potter moulds a pot!

Scorsese has used De-Niro in challenging masks, playing a Vietnam War Victim , who seeks a job as a Taxi Driver in New York City.

The film captures the essence of United States , Post Vietnam , where the scum of the streets is evident in terms of debauchery , booze , mafia , drugs ......

De-Niro as Travis Bickle , enacts the character to the T , showing his growing frustrations , rejected and depressed..

.. to redemption ..

and misanthrope turning a saviour of a prostitute , played by Jodie Foster.

Travis Bickle has put an indelible mark on the field of cinema as one of the finest performances by an actor ... and will continue to do so in years to come..

Rating : 4.5/5.0

Hey tanny,
couldn't agree with you more on this one.. excellent movie... splendid acting from De-Nero.
there are some movies which are better to watch while you have a hangover.. (Dev D, Pulp Fiction) :):)..
